Immerse yourself in one of South Africa’s most untamed and ecologically significant landscapes by joining our dedicated conservation research team. Based at our fully equipped conservation camp, you will gain first-hand experience working in the field while contributing directly to meaningful wildlife and environmental research initiatives.
Participants will actively engage in a variety of conservation activities, including wildlife monitoring, ecological data collection, habitat assessment, and biodiversity research. Throughout the program, you will receive practical training in key ecological principles and conservation methodologies from experienced field professionals.
In addition to research and monitoring, the experience offers valuable instruction in bush survival skills, field navigation, and wilderness awareness, providing a comprehensive understanding of life and work in the African bush. What To Expect?
Get taught how to deal with the dangerous animals of Africa. Humans have coexisted with the likes of lions, elephants and rhinos for centuries, therefore operating amongst these animals is more forgiving than one would anticipate. Whether you are a conservationist, ranger, field guide or simply a nature enthusiast, this course is designed to enhance your skills on dangerous animal behaviour, from a vehicle and on foot. You will be exposed to the iconic Big 5 of Africa and gaining further in-depth knowledge of other species which could potentially be dangerous. Learn how to prepare and be prepared in order to work safely in dangerous game areas all whilst residing in a semi-luxury tented camp in the heart of Big 5 territory.

2 Week Dedicated Conservation Program – An Immersive Anti-Poaching Experience
Join Safari Wild Co. and TacTrac on an immersive 2-week anti-poaching experience. Get trained by our operators and gain first hand insights into the life of an anti-poaching operative. Furthermore, learn wildlife tracking, bushcraft and how to operate safely in dangerous game areas whilst operating alongside other active anti-poaching teams. You will be residing somewhere in the African Wilderness in a fully catered tented camp from which you will be operating your daily activities. Be prepared for long hours and demanding work under many different circumstances. Once witnessed the grueling poaching activities, your experience and knowledge gained during the course will continue to support the efforts on protecting vital ecosystems and keep our biodiversity rich.
